'Toshack will not pick' Earnshaw
Rob Earnshaw

Robert Earnshaw has been warned he will not play for Wales
again while John Toshack remains in charge.

Championship new boys Nottingham Forest paid
Derby County £2.65m for the 27-year-old striker on Friday.

But Earnshaw has been told he will not earn an international recall even if he hits the goal trail for Forest. Former Wales team-mate Iwan Roberts said: "I don't think Earnie will play for Wales while Tosh is in charge, he's his seventh or eighth choice striker." Boss Toshack has ignored Earnshaw for Wales' recent friendlies, stating a lack of games for relegated Premier League side Derby as the reason. To add insult to injury, Toshack even named players - Mark Jones and Steve Evans - that had been relegated from the Football League in his initial 35-man squad for their current friendly double-header in Iceland
and The Netherlands.

Ched Evans' goal-scoring debut and Sam Vokes' encouraging first Wales cap has knocked forgotten man Earnshaw further down Toshack's striking pecking order. He was already behind captain Craig Bellamy, Freddy Eastwood, David Cotterill, Jermaine Easter,
Daniel Nardiello and Craig Davies.

Earnshaw, who has scored 13 goals in 40 Wales caps, is desperate to endear himself to
his national team manager before the 2010 World Cup qualifiers start in September
with a double-header against Azerbaijan and Russia.
